Eco Action Day Pledge

Hello all!

We are proud to inform you that aquama® Pacific has taken a pledge as part of Eco Action Day 2020 in Singapore to be more energy-efficient and reduce our carbon footprint. Our company is strongly aligned towards sustainability and we are honored to be part of this movement.

Eco Action Day is an annual nationwide campaign in Singapore encouraging awareness and action for the environment, which culminates in the celebration of World Environment Day on June 5th. Over the years, it has grown to be an established platform for organisations and individuals to pledge environmental actions. This year, Eco Action Day will focus on Sustainable Development Goal 7, which is affordable and clean energy. Read more here.

Please read below to find out about our pledge and join us in protecting the planet.

Include 'switching of lights during lunch hour' into our office protocol
Avoid switching on lights in areas where natural light is abundantly available
Set air conditioning to at least 25°C
Switch to LED lights
Carry out a recycling drive in the office. Set up recycling bins and educate staff on recycling procedures
Encourage staff to use their own mugs and containers for takeaways
Cultivate green habits in the office by displaying posters and stickers with tips on saving energy and resources
Encourage staff to read email via PC instead of printing
Set office printers to automatic double-sided printing mode to save on paper consumption
Set office print option to black & white printing to consume less ink
Link fax machines to email to reduce the printing of documents
Make mugs and cutlery freely available in the pantry, to help staff use fewer disposable cups and cutlery
Use teleconferencing and videoconferencing technologies to reduce overseas travel for business meetings
Purchase paper and envelope made of recycled paper material
Use refillable pens and markers
Collect paper that has been used on one side only in collector trays and reuse for printing and note paper
Go for minimal packaging
Replacing your equipment parts instead of purchasing new devices
